A mapping starts with you defining the purpose, target group and what information is needed to be able to make decisions. Questions, categories and maps are then adapted to the organisation. The survey is distributed for example via a web link or QR code. When responses come in they can be followed, filtered and analysed geographically. The result is compiled in maps, tables, charts and reports that can be used for prioritisation, measures and follow-up.
What information can be collected and analysed?
pointSurvey can collect location markers, routes, categories, comments, images and complementary survey responses. You can for example investigate which places are experienced as unsafe, which paths are used most and why certain places create problems. Exactly which data is collected is determined by the mapping's purpose, target group and data protection requirements.
Can participants mark places and routes?
Yes, participants can mark specific places and register or draw routes on a digital map. The markers can be complemented with categories, comments and images. That makes it possible to analyse both individual problem places and larger geographic patterns, for example recurring risk points or well-used walking and cycling paths.
Can pointSurvey be adapted to the municipality's target groups, questions and work processes?
Yes, pointSurvey can be adapted to the organisation's goals, target groups and ways of working. Questions, answer options, categories, maps and reporting can be designed for example for safety walks, crime-prevention mapping, citizen dialogue or Safe routes to school. The adaptation means the municipality can collect the information that is actually needed for analysis and decisions.
How is the result presented, filtered and shared?
The result is presented in interactive maps, tables, charts and reports. Observations can be filtered by for example category, time, geographic area and status. Mappings and situation pictures can be shared through real-time links, and data can be exported for further analysis in other GIS systems. Available export formats and integration options are specified for the solution in question.
Can several administrations and collaboration partners work with the same mapping?
pointSurvey can be used as a shared geographic basis for several operations and collaboration partners. Municipal administrations, the police, civil society and other relevant actors can contribute observations and take part in shared maps and situation pictures. Permissions and access are adapted according to which actors should be able to register, administer or only take part in the result.
Can participants respond anonymously or without personal data being collected?
A mapping can be designed so that participants do not need to provide a name or contact details. Which data is collected is determined by the survey's purpose and the legal basis for the processing. Because detailed location data in some situations can contribute to identifying a person, anonymous or pseudonymous setups also need to be carefully risk-assessed.
How is location data and personal data about children handled?
Mappings that cover children or detailed location data should be designed with particularly high requirements for privacy and data minimisation. Only collect information that is needed for the stated purpose, provide clear and age-appropriate information and limit access and retention time. The municipality is responsible for establishing the legal basis and assessing whether guardians need to be informed or involved.
When does the organisation need to carry out an impact assessment according to GDPR?
An impact assessment may be required if the processing is likely to result in a high risk to people's rights and freedoms. That can be particularly relevant in systematic processing of detailed location data, data about children or other data worthy of protection. It is the organisation that is the data controller that makes the assessment, preferably together with its data protection officer. IMY has practical guidance for impact assessments.
Var lagras data och vilka underbiträden används?
Enligt Entergates publicerade produktinformation sker datalagringen i Sverige. Inför avtal eller upphandling bör Point även redovisa aktuell driftmiljö, teknisk supportåtkomst, underbiträden och eventuella överföringar utanför EU eller EES. Dessa uppgifter ska framgå av personuppgiftsbiträdesavtal och tillhörande säkerhetsdokumentation.
Hur fungerar behörighetsstyrning, loggning, gallring och radering?
Åtkomst till kartläggningar och resultat ska begränsas utifrån användarnas roller och arbetsuppgifter. Innan införandet bör kommunen och Point komma överens om behörighetsnivåer, administratörsansvar, loggning, säkerhetskopiering, lagringstid, gallring och hantering av incidenter. Rutinerna ska dokumenteras och anpassas efter informationens skyddsvärde.
