Boka genomgångWhat is a pulse survey?
An employee pulse survey is a short, focused survey that captures how employees experience a specific area here and now. Unlike a broad employee survey, a pulse survey usually contains fewer questions and focuses on a defined area, for example work environment, engagement, leadership or workload. The pulse survey can be run as a standalone measurement or used to follow up on results, changes and completed initiatives over time.
What is the difference between a pulse survey and an employee survey?
An employee survey usually gives a broad overall picture of the organisation's work environment, leadership and employee engagement. A pulse survey is shorter and more focused – it is used when you want to examine a particular area, capture a current snapshot or follow the effect of a change or initiative. Pulse surveys can also be used between larger employee surveys to follow priority areas more closely over time.
When is a pulse survey a good fit?
A pulse survey is a good fit when you want a current snapshot, examine a particular area, follow work environment or workload, measure the effect of a completed initiative, capture employees' experience during a change, follow up on results from an employee survey, or create a basis for dialogue, priorities and decisions. The content and scope of the measurement are adapted to the organisation's needs and purpose.
Can pulse surveys be run as standalone measurements?
Yes. A pulse survey can be run entirely as a standalone measurement when you want to examine a defined area or get a current picture of how employees experience their work situation. It can also be used as follow-up after an employee survey to see whether priority areas and completed actions are developing in the desired direction.
How does a pulse survey work?
The work starts with us jointly clarifying the purpose of the measurement, which employees should take part and which areas should be examined. Entergate then helps you through the entire process – from planning and question design to delivery, reporting and feedback. That way you get a quality-assured pulse survey that is adapted to the organisation's needs and provides a useful basis for continued dialogue and improvement work.
Does Entergate help us develop the right questions?
Yes. You can start from ready-made, quality-assured questions in different areas, or get help to develop a more tailored question set. That can include, for example, work environment, organisational and social work environment (OSA), workload, engagement, leadership, collaboration, health-promoting factors and change work. The questions are chosen based on what you want to understand, which employees should take part and how the results will be used.
How many questions does a pulse survey contain?
The number of questions depends on the purpose and scope of the measurement. A pulse survey usually contains fewer questions than a larger employee survey and focuses on a limited number of areas. Entergate helps you develop a sufficiently short and relevant question set that gives useful results without burdening employees with unnecessarily many questions.
How often can you run a pulse survey?
It depends on the purpose and which area is to be followed. Some organisations run pulse surveys monthly or quarterly, while others measure on particular occasions or a few times a year. Entergate helps you find an interval that gives relevant information without creating unnecessary survey fatigue.
Can a pulse survey be run in different parts of the organisation?
Yes. A pulse survey can be run across the whole organisation or directed at selected operations, departments, occupational groups or other target groups. Even when the measurement is directed at a limited part of the organisation, Pulse survey is a centrally planned and delivered initiative, usually initiated by HR or leadership with support from Entergate.
Can the results be compared over time?
Yes. If the same or comparable questions are used at several measurement points, you can follow how the results develop over time. That makes it possible to see whether completed actions have had an effect, whether an area is developing in the desired direction, or whether further initiatives are needed.
Are pulse surveys anonymous?
Pulse surveys can be run anonymously and configured with anonymity protection, threshold values and permissions. The setup is adapted to the organisation's needs and guidelines, so that employees can feel confident about giving honest answers and the results are handled responsibly.
How are the results from a pulse survey presented?
The results are compiled and presented in a way that makes it easier to understand the current situation, identify important patterns and decide which areas need follow-up. Entergate can help you with reporting, analysis and feedback so that the results become a practical basis for dialogue, decisions and continued improvement work.
What is the difference between Pulse survey and FollowUp?
Pulse survey is Entergate's service for centrally delivered measurements at organisation level or within selected parts of the organisation, where Entergate helps you through the entire process – from planning and question design to delivery, reporting and feedback. FollowUp is a module for manager-driven follow-up at team level, where managers themselves send out shorter measurements to their employees within the framework set by HR. In short: Pulse survey is driven centrally by HR or leadership with support from Entergate, while FollowUp gives managers the ability to run follow-ups in their own teams.
What does a pulse survey cost?
The price depends on the scope of the measurement, target group, question set, number of measurement points and the support you want around delivery, analysis and feedback. Contact Entergate and we will help you put together a setup and a price picture that fits the organisation's needs.
